Coming Soon: Dexter Season 5

Dexter season 5 night shoot in Long Beach, CA ...

How will Dexter handle the fallout from Trinity's last victim? Find out in season 5 of Dexter! Image by popculturegeek.com via Flickr

Happy Tuesday, dark passengers. Are you as excited as I am right now? In less than two weeks, the original Dark Passenger will return to the screen. The 5th season of Dexter kicks off on Sunday, September 26 on Showtime.

Seriously…words don’t even express how excited I am for the new season. I’ve been posting clips, teasers and promos on my Facebook page for months now.

And the wait’s almost over!

So, how should we here at Your Dark Passenger celebrate the return of our namesake? Well, I’d thought about putting on my new Dexter shirt Hubby ordered for me, baking some extra special dark passenger cookies and waving my “I Heart Dexter” flag, but that doesn’t translate well to a blog.

Actually, it only reinforces Hubby’s opinion of my insanity.

Since I’d prefer not live in a white padded room just yet, how about we try this instead: Weekly post-episode reactions to the episode. We’ll still get to the reviews (along with the rest of the seasons), but here’s what you can expect every Sunday night to help extend your dark passenger fix:

  • Super brief recap of the episode
  • Favorite parts
  • Any awesome lines I just had to repeat
  • Reaction to the following week’s preview
  • Speculation about where the season might be going (I won’t read spoilers, but YDP is not responsible for spoiling you in the event the wild speculation is actually correct).

I won’t be talking in code or anything goofy like that, so don’t read this post if you haven’t seen the Dexter episode yet.

Tell me, how will YOU be celebrating the start of Dexter season 5?

We LOVE Dexter, can’t wait. I will have to be careful not to read your blog until I get to watch. My work schedule doesn’t let me catch it live so we have to record it.

It’s seriously my favorite show ever. I don’t know what I’ll do when it’s gone for good. It’ll definitely be sad times in my house… :(

If it helps, Cynedra, I promise to talk about totally inane things in the first paragraph so that I don’t give anything away before it cuts off on the front page. (And the title will always be obvious so you can skip reading it if you’re following through the email subscription.) But definitely come chat with all, erm, maybe 2 of us once you do get caught up on the new eps.

Side note: I’m going to have to send my husband to your site. For whatever reason, I can interpret dreams for my friends, but I’m totally worthless when it comes to him. Must be too close…like the way psychics are 100% un-psychic about themselves…only mine extends to him too…maybe. Then again, I can’t interpret my own dreams either usually, so I guess that makes sense.

Uh-oh…rambling. Time to stop talking. :)

I seem to be holding onto an irrational hope that the show will be extended now that Michael Hall is cancer free. *crosses fingers*

I am always happy to help with dream interpretations. I have never been able to interpret dreams for friends very well either. It is hard to have the objectiveness necessary when the person is so close.
