Welcome, Dark Passengers

On a solitary beach....

Hello, dark passengers – both new and old.  Welcome to the new and improved Dark Passenger.  I think we’ll all have a lot of fun here.

Even though I won’t be bringing over any of my content from Your Dark Passenger, you can expect many of the same topics to be discussed here – and more.  Here’s a little taste of what may be to come:

  • Developing Psychic Abilites
  • Support for Empaths
  • The Psychology of Serial Killers
  • Paranormal Creatures
  • The Difference Between Being Religious and Being Spiritual
  • Mental Illness, Rants and Phobias
  • Information about Real Paranormal Investigations
  • Discussion of the TV Show Dexter
  • Conspiracy Theories
  • Urban Legends
  • The Bermuda and Dragon’s Triangles
  • And so much more!

Why ‘Dark Passenger’, you ask?  Great question!

Fans of the TV show Dexter will recognize this phrasing as he uses the term to describe the dark force within him that drives him to kill.  For those of you not in the know, Dexter is a serial killer who only kills other killers.  And he’s awesome.  So is the whole cast.

Anyway…

The way I look at the concept of a dark passenger is a little different than the way our favorite anti-hero does.  I believe we all have a dark force within us; a dark passenger that beckons us this way and that.  We all have those thoughts that just don’t seem to make any sense with everything else swimming around inside our heads.

But it goes deeper.  Much deeper.

Sometimes, our dark passenger will lead us to an interest – an unexplainable fascination – to dark topics and we have no choice except to dive in to learn more.  Of course, once we learn more about these dark topics, we find they were only dark because we had never allowed light to shine upon them.

By now you may be wondering what the topics I’ve listed above have to do with the dark passenger.  These are actually the areas my dark passenger beckoned me to explore.  Apparently, my dark passenger loves to learn more about the minds of serial killers, paranormal phenomena and conspiracy theories.  Until someone speaks up with a request for a different topic, I’m taking all of y’all along with me on my dark passenger joyride.

Make sure to bookmark me or subscribe to my feed.  Y’all know me so you can expect this blog to hit the ground running!

Does this mean you left too?

Glad to have found the new site though :)

Let me know if you want to trade links or buttons. I have a new and improved From Huskies to Husbands now too.

  3. Hurray! Nice to see your new blog! Have you quit at The Other Place? (Or been kicked out, which seems to happen more often?) If so, do you want to be included on the ex-Td.com blogroll?

I always loved encountering you in the forums, and I loved visiting your blog. So I’m thrilled to see you here. I shall bookmark!

Have fun at your new digs!

Star – I totally forgot to respond here. I can’t ever remember if we had a conversation by e-mail or if it was in comments. :) Always glad to provide lots to read. Something tells me tomorrow is going to be a major writing day for me…

Stephanie – I’m going to go check out your new site right now. I haven’t even gotten an About page up over here, but once I get a blogroll going I will definitely get in touch with you about trading.

Phyl – Glad you found me and bookmarked me. I’ve got your new site queued up to go check out when I’m done here.

Okay y’all, here’s the deal with why I have two dark passenger sites. Basically, I have a LOT to say on this topic and there’s a good bit of it that I’d like to retain rights to.

I thought about leaving during the mass exodus, but after thinking about it long and hard, I’m just not willing to give up what little trickles in on all the posts I’ve already done. So it looks like I’m going to weather the storm until either the rain stops or the ship goes down. Either way, I’ve got a cool new home over here that seems to be fairly waterproof. ;)

So I don’t know that I technically qualify as ex-Td since I’m still maintaining over there. And if you can stomach the thought of the occasional clandestine visit over there, I’m still adding content, just at a much slower pace than I used to. Time to get all my other neglected blogs up there in the page rank. :)
